Construction Worker Killed in North Carolina

Last week in the state of North Carolina a construction worker was killed on August 19th after he was ejected from a piece of machinery and then crushed underneath. 39-year-old Donald Ondra Collins is reported as the victim of the recent, fatal construction accident which took place at 11:33 AM.
Collins was a backhoe operator and while clearing dirt and putting down sod around a hotel with two other workers, the accident occurred. It is said the rear wheel of the machinery slid down, ejecting Collins along the way. Then, the ladder flipped over on top of Collins, trapping him underneath.
His coworkers run the other side of the building when the accident occurred and immediately realize that the backhoe had overturned and trapped Collins. At this time, it has not been reported whether he died at the scene of the accident or was transported to a hospital.
The North Carolina Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said that it will conduct investigations.
