Family Files Wrongful Death Claim after Son Shoots Himself

Parents of a sophomore at Florida State University are filing a wrongful death suit in the case of their son. They report that their son shot himself after consuming three cans of the popular alcoholic beverage Four Loko. Phusion Project, creators of the drink, now face a lawsuit that could potentially harm their company.

After this news was released the press, the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning to other alcoholic energy drink manufacturers. This comes in the wake of the FDA's report that it sent out a year ago entitled "Consumer Safety News: FDA Issues Warning on Alcoholic Energy Drinks". In it the agency states its concerns about the negative effects of mixing alcohol with caffeine after it began reviewing drinks that it had deemed questionable.

Joe and Vicki Keiran, parents to the now-deceased Jason, say that their son went on a 30-hour drinking binge after which he shot himself. Although the medical examiner has yet to say whether it was accidental or suicide, family and friends are quick to reply that it was definitely unintentional.
