Car Accident Claims Lives of Three People
In Freemont, N.C., a car accident claimed the lives of three people and left a fourth in critical condition when their car flipped over several times after crashing into a ditch in Wayne County.
Troopers on the scene reported that the three people that lost their lives in the crash were 25-year-old Joshua Brantley, 17-year-old Jacob Floars and 18-year-old Ashley Haskins. The crash occurred at about 3:30 in the morning on Sunday. All three victims were from the town of Freemont.
The lone survivor was the driver, 17-year-old Mark Pope. He was taken to Pitt County memorial Hospital. A spokesperson for the hospital said Pope was in critical condition as of Sunday evening. Highway Patrol St. C.J. Ownes commented that the speed of the vehicle may have led to the deadly accident.
