Doctor Sued for Prescribing Lethal Doses of Medications

In West Palm Beach, Florida, a third civil lawsuit has been filed against Dr. John Christensen.  The recent lawsuit accuses the doctor of killing a patient by prescribing lethal doses of very powerful narcotics.

The medical malpractice lawsuit was filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court by the mother of the victim named Jonathan Brandt.  The mother asserts that the doctor prescribed 60 Xanax and 180 Roxiodone pills when her son visited the A1A Health & Wellness Clinic back in June 2007.  Brandt received the narcotics after complaining of back pain.  After numerous visits, Brandt, who is a father of two, died on February 24, 2008.  He was 25 years old.

Now, Dr. Christensen is facing disciplinary action from the Florida Medical Board.  It is reported that the doctor settled a similar lawsuit for $250,000 last year and has another lawsuit pending.
