Motorcycle Accident Fatalities Up by 20% in North Carolina

In North Carolina, it is reported that more people are dying during motorcycle accidents throughout the entire state.  Now, the State Highway Patrol is saying that something must be done to combat the rising numbers.

A biker for the past 32 years, Daniel Morrison, told news sources that learning how to ride a motorcycle takes time.  He said, "You don't just learn overnight, it's not like driving your car.  You gotta be paying attention."  Morrison believes that if people learn how to ride motorcycles, motorcycle accident related deaths throughout the state would not be so high.  He also said that motorcycle traffic throughout the state has increased and may contribute to accidents.

According to the State Highway Patrol, motorcycle accident fatalities are up by 20% compared to last year.  AAA has reported that accidents may stem from an experienced drivers and lack of proper safety training.

Morrison echoed AAA's sentiments and said that motorcycle riders "should learn to ride a dirt bike before a street bike because it gives them a sense of how to control a bike."
