Officers Repsond to Crash between SUV and Motorcycle

Officers in Lexington County were called to an accident on an interstate last week when a SUV and motorcycle collided. What they found was a serious motorcycle accident that left one dead.

According to eyewitness testimony and that of the SUV driver, the motorcycle was heading north on the highway when the SUV attempted to make a left turn heading south. The two struck with enough impact to throw the rider off his bike and into the roadway. Although he was quickly transported to a medical facility, the 37-year-old biker lost his life shortly after arriving.

Even though the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, his internal injuries were too severe to survive. Luckily, the driver of the SUV was wearing her seatbelt, preventing her from sustaining any serious injuries. While she has not been charged in the motorcycle accident, the incident is still under investigation by local authorities.
