Man Pinned Under Big Rig

One man is lucky to be alive after he was trapped in his own vehicle for over two hours last week. The tractor trailer driver had to be rescued from underneath the massive steering wheel of his big rig.

According to the police report, the driver was heading north on a state highway when he lost control of his vehicle. It fishtailed across the road and then veered into an embankment. The vehicle traveled 25 feet before overturning and landing on its side. The driver was trapped in the cab of the vehicle under the large steering wheel.

When rescue workers arrived on the scene, they quickly realized that extracting the driver would not be easy. Once the man was rescued, however, he was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Tennessee.
