Autopsy reports have been released to the public for a woman who died of dog bites and the findings are horrifying. It seems that she was alive during the entire length of her attack; yet the official cause of her death is still unknown as the coroner waits for toxicology reports to be returned.
Linda Leal was discovered in her backyard of the 100 block of Bridge Street having sustained "substantial trauma." At that time, there was only one dog in the yard with Leal, her own mixed-breed pit bull.
The animal was eventually seized by animal control and euthanized.
While investigators with Colusa County Sheriff's Office cannot completely rule it out until the toxicology reports are returned, they do not believed that foul play was involved.
