Mother and Family Killed in Auto Accident

When Results Matter Most, Hire a Heavyweight

A young mother killed herself, along with the rest of her family, when she lost control of her SUV while driving through the Croatan National Forest.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper R.A. Woods, the driver, 24-year-old Maria Gonzalez, was speeding through the park. She lost control of the vehicle and caused it to overturn. The rest of the passengers - Abdil Salis, 24; Alexander Gomez, 6; Adyelis Salgonzalez, 2; and four-month-old Abdil Salis Jr. - were declared dead on the scene. The two youngest victims were still securely held in their child restraints.

Police believe that she was driving her 1996 Chevy Blazer on a gravel road before it flipped into a nearby canal. Woods added that, "We have had fatal accidents on this stretch of the road before, but this is the first time I've run across a family killed at one time." This auto accident was attributed solely to speed and negligent driving.
