Speeding May Have Led to Fatal Auto Accident
Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in a crash that took the life of one person last week. When police arrived at the scene of the fatal auto accident, they found the passenger dead in the car while the driver had fled on foot. Initial reports show that the driver of a passenger car slammed into the back of a parked tow truck. It is uncertain why the driver crashed into the truck since alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. However, police say excessive speeds and distracted driving may have occurred, so officers are continuing their investigations.
The driver that fled was discovered in a field close to the accident scene. Police have since charged 23-year-old F.D.A. with involuntary manslaughter for his role in the crash. The victim was his friend, 22-year-old J.H.O. Upon investigating the scene of the crash, officers believe that the driver was traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph, which is much greater than the posted speed limit.
