Tennessee Nursing Home Investigated for Claims of Abuse

After several allegations about nursing home abuse at one facility, the Tennessee Department of Health decided to step in and they have refused to admit any new patients until the abuse has been thoroughly investigated. So far, five employees have lost their jobs due to allegations of abuse against patients. Facility officials are working with local police and the Department of Health to see just how widespread the neglect was in the nursing home.

Reports indicate that the fired employees sprayed water on a dementia patient who was sleeping. It was a game they were playing to see how she would react. Another patient is believed to have been abused in the same manner. Two more employees were laid off for providing false information to nursing home officials and the authorities during investigations.
