Woman Loses Life in Single Vehicle Accident
A single-vehicle crash in Nicholas County took the life of a woman this past weekend.
According to Sgt. R.T. Allison of the sheriff's office, an officer was dispatched to the scene of the car accident around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. When the officer arrived, the victim was identified as 68-year-old Linda Warren Booth of Hayesville. It appeared as though she was driving south on U.S. 19 when she lost control of her minivan, ran off the road, hit a median and then struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to roll three times.
Booth was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Her husband, James E. Booth, 74, was also in the vehicle at the time. He was flown by HealthNet to the Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital in Charleston. The last reports showed that he was in critical condition.
