Police reports show that a motorist was driving along North Tryon Street in a Toyota Tacoma when he struck a male motorcyclist. After speaking with the motorist and surveying the scene of the motorcycle accident, police determined that driver had attempted to make a turn but failed to yield the right of way to the victim.
Although the victim was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center by emergency medical technicians, he later died of his multiple injuries. The driver has since been taken into custody by the local police department and charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
