After searching for just a few hours, authorities in North Carolina believe they have captured the suspect in a fatal hit and run car accident.
According to police reports, the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was killed in the car accident that was caused by Marcus Bridges. The case was slightly unusual as there was actually no contact between Bridges' vehicle and the victim, making it difficult for authorities to track him down initially. However, a relative of the victim who was driving alongside the victim was able to provide an identification of both the driver and his vehicle.
Both cars were traveling on I-440 when Bridges attempted to merge into the victim's lane. Although she swerved to avoid the contact, she then crashed into a tree, killing her on the spot. He has since been charged with an unsafe lane change, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and felony hit and run.
