In Fairplain, it is reported that a woman from Ravenswood and her infant daughter were killed last weekend during a two vehicle car accident. An official said that the collision occurred on Interstate 77 in Jackson County.

26-year-old Renea Parsons and her three-month-old daughter were pronounced dead after arriving at Jackson General Hospital on Sunday. Following the auto accident, Parson's two-year old son was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center. Authorities report that he remained in the intensive care unit on Monday.

It is said that the mother was traveling north when her 1999 Volkswagen Jetta over the median, skidded into the southbound lane and then was struck on its passenger side by a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Amy R. Vandorp of North Carolina.

At this time, police say that they are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
