Two passengers on a sightseeing duck boat in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania lost their lives earlier this year. Now, the families of the victims are suing the tour company for failing to protect them while on the boat. Several witnesses were called to testify during the wrongful death trial about the boat accident, which was described as "terrifying" by many. The two victims - D.S., 16, and S.P., 20 - were visiting from Hungary and had chosen to take a tour of Philadelphia via the Delaware River. At some point during the tour, the duck boat stalled, but none of the vessel or tour operators told the passengers to put on life jackets. A barge guided by a tugboat crashed into the duck boat, sending dozens of passengers into the river.
At this time, both companies involved in the crash, the barge operator and the tour company, are blaming each other for the unfortunate deaths of the two passengers. The families have filed a joint wrongful death lawsuit against both companies claiming poor training and unclear safety measures were to blame for their losses. If you intend to move forward with a wrongful death claim, now is the right time to contact the Lanier Law Group, P.A. to get a North Carolina personal injury lawyer involved in your case who can represent you as you seek damages for your tragic loss.
