A man in New Haven is listed as the defendant of a wrongful death lawsuit for the passing of his daughter. The man's wife is already behind bars for the toddler's death, which took place last year. Last month, a jury found R.K., 30, guilty of criminal sexual conduct, murder and child abuse in the death of her 2-year-old daughter. Although the mother claimed that she was playing with her daughter and that the young girl accidentally fell twice, the report from the coroner did not back up her story. The medical examiner told the jury that the injuries sustained by 2-year-old were more consistent with a car crash. During the trial, the prosecution contended that the mother injured her daughter after the little girl soiled her pants.

According to news sources, the wrongful death suit claims that the father knew that his wife had a drug and anger management problem. Therefore, he was negligent in his parental duties when he left her alone with the little girl. The suit was filed by the toddler's grandmother.
