Girl Dies After Getting Hit in the Head with Concrete

When Results Matter Most, Hire a Heavyweight

In North Carolina is reported that a man threw a piece of concrete through the passenger-side window of a moving vehicle. Now, he is being charged with murder because the concrete hit a teenage girl in the torso and severed her liver, resulting in her death.

17-year-old Shelby Chisom was a senior at North Carolina High School and was pronounced dead on Saturday, just three weeks before school was scheduled to begin.

According to reports, Chisom was leaving a party with some of her friends at 6:00 AM when 21-year-old Michael John Craver threw a concrete paving stone through the car window, which was open. Chisom's friends took her to the hospital where her condition only became worse. She was transferred to another hospital and reported dead at noon on Saturday.

On Monday, Craver is expected to be arraigned on a murder charge said the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. Police say that Craver knew Chisom, but would not issue further comments.

Friends of Chisom describe her as being intelligent and kind. Zach Joyce, a long time friend told reporters, "She meant so much to so many people. It's just hard to believe that she's gone."
