New Signs to Be Posted Near Dangerous Road

When Results Matter Most, Hire a Heavyweight

After several people have lost their lives on a particular stretch of road in North Carolina, a memo posted last week gave indication that the state DOT has intentions of making the street safer.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has been petitioned by several families and friends who have lost their loved ones on a section of roadway that includes a steep curve. While there is a sign on the inside of the curve that warns drivers to slow down, the DOT is considering putting two more signs up before the curve begins. The department hopes that this will cut down on accidents by warning drivers earlier to adhere to the 35 mph speed limit.

Since 1992, there have been three fatal accidents on this stretch of roadway. The latest accident happened on September 15tth of this year when a high school senior lost his life. He was a passenger in a vehicle that spun off the road and hit a tree.
