Usher’s stepson Kile Glover was declared brain-dead by doctors on Friday when he was involved in a horrible jet ski accident. According to reports, the child was in a lake on an inner tube and was hit by a jet-ski driver who was passing by. The child is the biological son of Usher’s estranged wife, Tameka Foster. Usher has been involved in a custody battle regarding the boy and his brother since choosing to divorce Tameka almost two years.
However, in the wake of the dark tragedy, he has chosen to allow Tameka primary and majority custody of the boys. TMZ reports that the father has been at the hospital frequently, and Tameka has not left since she arrived in Usher’s private plane. He sent the jet to pick her up and fly her to the hospital after the incident occurred.
The child has not shown any brain activity since admitted to the hospital, but is still alive. The incident occurred on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, GA. He is still in critical condition. Currently, a family friend of Usher’s is under investigation regarding the incident. Some think that Jeffrey S. Hubbard may have purposely hit the boy. It takes a lot of skill, or reckless abandon, to steer close enough to an inner tube to hit it, investigators assume. On the flotation device with Kile was a 15-year-old girl, who was also airlifted to the hospital. She was eventually released and is now recovering at home. She suffered a broken arm and a laceration on her head.
Hubbard supposedly owns the watercraft that ran over the children. Investigators have proven that neither drugs or alcohol were involved in the injury, but police still think that someone may be behind the assault. Jet Ski accidents like Kile’s are serious, and Usher and his family deserve to receive damages for their suffering.
